A listing has to earn its tick.

Existence

We look for current evidence that the establishment is actually operating. Old directory entries alone are not enough.

Exact outlet

We check the branch, address, unit and postal code. A café that moved three streets away is not the same listing.

Opening hours

We favour current first-party information, building or landlord directories and other authoritative sources. Where practical, we cross-check.

Location

Coordinates should point to the actual venue or building — not merely somewhere vaguely in the neighbourhood.

Contact & website

Links and contact details are checked before we publish them. If we cannot verify a website, we would rather leave it blank than invent one.

Freshness

We record when a listing was checked. Verification is evidence from a point in time, not a promise that a café can never change tomorrow.

And when sources disagree?

We investigate. If reliable current sources conflict, we compare them, prefer the strongest evidence and keep a record of the discrepancy. We do not quietly choose whichever answer is most convenient.
